European Council for Leading Business Schools (ECLBS)

The European Council for Leading Business Schools (ECLBS) is a non-governmental, non-profit educational association founded in 2013 and registered in the European Union, specifically in the Republic of Latvia (Registered Identification Number 40008215839). ECLBS comprises over 50 members, including state national quality assurance bodies, universities across Europe and beyond, as well as professional and trade associations related to business education.

ECLBS’s primary mission is to support higher education institutions in their efforts to enhance quality in business and management education. The organization operates in strict alignment with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, developed within the context of the Bologna Process.

The organization is an active member of several international quality assurance networks, including:

  • The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group (CIQG) in the USA, with which it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
  • The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
  • The IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence in Europe.

ECLBS has also established partnerships and signed agreements with various accreditation bodies and quality assurance agencies, such as:

  • The Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA).
  • The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in the USA.
  • The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).
  • The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) in Kazakhstan.
  • The Authority for Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Mauritania.

Through these collaborations, ECLBS aims to promote excellence and continuous improvement in business education globally.
